Ted Torres, the chef and owner of Coa Catering, has worked as a chef in the Philadelphia area for over the past twenty years.  Below are some of the accomplishments and press coverage from his chef journey throughout the years.

CHEF TED TORRES WAS AWARDED THE Philly Art & Food 2016'S Savory Impact Champion Award

Chef Ted Torres competed against area chefs during the Philly Art & Food 2016 Cooks Who Care event.  The event this year was to benefit Taller Puertorriqueño, Pennsylvania’s largest Latino arts organization, which uses art to promote development within the community.  Over a dozen chefs presented their Latino artist-inspired dishes.  Chef Ted was awarded the Savory Impact Champion Award for his dish and Latino art-inspired presentation.  Chef Ted presented a baked handmade plantain cone filled with pernil (tender roasted pork in Latin flavors) and topped with shredded manchego cheese, chopped pickled jalapeños, cilantro microgreens and an edible sample of a mask created by a New York based Latino artist.

AL DÍA News - May 2016

Chef Ted Torres was featured by AL DÍA News as a Puerto Rican chef presenting upscale diverse Latino flavors and concepts in the Philadelphia region, through his company Coa Catering.

Chef Ted Torres competed against three other chefs as part of a Food Network competition.  During Anne Burrell's Chef Wanted Victor's Cafe episode in New York City, Chef Ted underwent two tests and dinner services.  He succeeded and was offered a position as the Executive Chef at Victor's Cafe.  He ultimately declined the position and chose to stay in Philadelphia to pursue his goal of opening his own business, now Coa Catering.
